Notoshin is a long-established restaurant with 270 years of history. Notoshin was established in 1777, and was built from the Edo period.
When Notoshin was first created, it was located in the backstreet of where Notoshin currently is. During the Taisho period, looking for a larger space, it was moved to a new location. However, shortly after opening, there was a devastating fire, burning the establishment down. After moving the restaurant to its current location, we remain here and continue to build upon our legacy.
From the sea to the mountains, Murakami city in Niigata is rife with nature and it’s delicacies. In Murakami, there are traditional salmon dishes, and dishes using Japan’s best Murakami beef. Our recommendation is the “Sakebitashi” or “Salted Salmon” which can only be had here. Furthermore, the “Nigiri” fully utilizes the sweetness and fattiness of the Murakami beef and is an enjoyable experience.
Other than that, there are many dishes using specially selected ingredients from the Japanese Sea, Miomote River, Mount Asahi which are also available.
We look forward to seeing you here from the bottom of our hearts.
